Start up Explainer
Challenge
The brief was to create an easy-to-follow video explaining the purpose and concept of Planet Price in less than a minute and a half. Planet Price has an unusual product (the "price" calculated by the product calculator - see the third video) and offers an algorithm-based software related to that product. The priority for the video was communicating what the product really was, how to use it, and the general benefits for organisations with supply chains. The target demographic for the video are organisations looking to make their supply chain more sustainable. At certain stages there is a particular focus on the sustainability officers in those organisations.
Execution
My workflow for an animated video is to gain sufficient information from the client to research and brainstorm ideas, create a script for the video that meets the brief, storyboard it out, source footage, edit footage, create the animations, and put it all together. Throughout the process I check in with the client at major points before moving forward to ensure I am still on brief.
Software Platform
Challenge
The brief for this video was to dive deeper into the technicalities of Planet Price - particularly how to calculate the "price" - while still keeping information digestible. This video had the same target demographic as the Explainer video.
Execution
Crafting this video, I followed the same workflow as Explainer video. The primary animation work is in the intro and outro scenes. I used Adobe Animate to create vector animations for these scenes.
Product Calculator
Challenge
This video had a slightly different target demographic from the two other videos - the focus was on members of the organisation looking to demo the software or use it after purchasing - so the focus was more on the employees of an organisation rather than organisations as a whole.
Execution
Once again, I used the same workflow as the Explainer video to put together this video. The animations created for the intro and outro scenes are similar to the software platform video. The slightly different demographic warranted a more "tutorial" style of video that featured a playful introduction but was ultimately clear, logical, and easy to understand.
